Foyer de Vie L’Alliance inaugurates its adapted health and sports course

On October 17, 2025, the Foyer de Vie L’Alliance in Verrières-le-Buisson (91) inaugurated its new health and fitness trail in the presence of Odile Bousard, Director of the Pôle Hébergement 91 of the Fondation des Amis de l’Atelier, François Guy Trébulle, Mayor of Verrières-le-Buisson, and Alain Cholay, municipal councillor in charge of disability issues. The inauguration marks an important step in the establishment’s policy of promoting adapted physical activity.

Inauguration of a sports area at MAS

A project born of a need identified in the field

Opened in 1996, the Foyer de Vie L’Alliance currently accommodates 53 people with mental or psychological disabilities or autism. Faced with heterogeneous needs in terms of physical activity and widely varying levels of autonomy, the home’s team wanted to develop a sports and health program accessible directly in the residents’ living environment.

The aim? To enable each resident to take part in regular physical activity, adapted to his or her abilities and personal goals, without having to travel to external facilities that are sometimes difficult to access for some residents. The facility’s garden has thus been transformed into a genuine space for well-being and independence.

A course designed to meet every need

Herkules Fitness was asked to design and install a range of outdoor equipment for the three main resident profiles identified by the home’s team:

For young, active people, we’ve installed street workout equipment for intensive daily exercise. These sturdy, versatile pieces of equipment offer the opportunity to work on muscle strengthening, coordination and endurance, helping to maintain good physical condition and relieve stress.

For residents who do not have the necessary independence to get around, the course provides a concrete response by making sport accessible directly in their living environment. These people, who are unable to take advantage of conventional urban sports facilities, now have a full range of sporting activities in their immediate vicinity, removing logistical barriers and reinforcing their inclusion in regular sporting activities.

For people with reduced mobility or the elderly, we have integrated a gentle motor course designed to preserve and develop mobility. This special equipment helps to improve balance, flexibility and fine motor skills, all of which are essential for maintaining independence in everyday activities and preventing loss of autonomy.

Sport-health: much more than physical activity

Beyond the obvious physical benefits, this sport-health program is part of an overall approach to well-being and personal fulfillment. Regular physical activity helps to improve sleep quality, reduce anxiety, encourage socialization between residents and boost self-esteem.

For the educational teams at Foyer L’Alliance, this equipment also becomes a pedagogical and therapeutic support. They can be used to organize group activities, set individualized objectives and measure progress, thus reinforcing residents’ motivation and commitment to their life project.

Herkules expertise at the service of the disabled

This project is a perfect illustration of our long-standing commitment to the medical-social sector. We develop adapted physical activity solutions that meet the specific constraints of these facilities: robust, secure equipment, installations that comply with PMR accessibility standards, easy maintenance and support for teams in getting to grips with the equipment.

Each project is unique and requires a detailed analysis of needs. For the Foyer L’Alliance, we worked in close collaboration with the on-site teams to propose an optimal configuration, taking into account the available space, resident profiles and therapeutic objectives.

An exemplary collective project

This wonderful achievement was made possible thanks to the mobilization of several financial partners: the Banque Populaire Rives de Paris Foundation, Novajet Station Lavage Auto Moto, and numerous benefactors who believed in the project and helped finance it. This collective dynamic bears witness to the growing importance of sport and health in supporting people with disabilities.

We warmly congratulate the entire Foyer de Vie L’Alliance team on this exemplary initiative, which places adapted physical activity at the heart of the facility’s project. To find out more about this project, read the article by Fondation des Amis de l’Atelier.
